Proof of Concept Funding
NPRONET Proof of Concept (PoC) funds (ca £1.0 million in total) are available to support projects (nominally 6 months) in the area of Natural products discovery and bioengineering and can be used to work up project ideas for further applications to RCUKand other funding bodies. Funding is available to members of NPRONET who are eligible to receive BBSRC funding (http://www.bbsrc.ac.uk/documents/grants-guide/). Up to 20% of PoC project value can be subcontracted to industry to buy a service or to an SME to facilitate involvement.

£10k – Business Interaction Vouchers (200k in total)
BBSRC NIBB Business Interaction Vouchers are to encourage collaboration between industrial and academic partners within NPRONET. The vouchers are up to £10k in value (inclusive of VAT) and must be matched by the industrial partner in cash or in kind. Funding is available to members of NPRONET who are eligible to receive BBSRC funding (http://www.bbsrc.ac.uk/documents/grants-guide/). The vouchers are awarded to the academic partner to tackle a problem relevant to the industrial partner.
These vouchers are intended to help resource small confidence-building measures between an academic partner and an industrial based partner that are likely to lead to outcomes of:
- a longer-term relationship
- improved interaction
- new research technology transfer projects
